Peacemaker’s Tarot for the 21st Century is about making Peace. I believe Peacemaking is the central work of every person’s life. The Major Arcana are 22 cards of significance. In this new interpretation I invite you to look, not at the ways the universe is working on you but rather what gifts and movement you can offer Peace and the World. I hope you’ll come along on this journey with me.
Peace and nonviolence are necessary to our survival and artists, activists, tarot readers and everyday folk can all be part of making the world more Just and Peaceful. We all search for answers for what to do next, and Peacemaker’s Tarot for the 21st Century gives us tools. Peacemakers need to know how Tarot can be helpful in developing and guiding the acquisition of knowledge about Peace and nonviolence.
I want those who are curious and interested in Tarot to understand that they don’t need to contend with and work around the hierarchies and prejudices that are built into the classic and conventional cards. It is possible to guide our decision-making with questions and answers both deeper and appropriate to our time. I’ve said goodbye to the Duality of ‘Upright’ and ‘Reverse’, the competing characteristics of the conventional cards, instead placing two complementary strengths for each card of the Peacemaker’s Tarot, expanding the possibilities for the card’s central message. These cards no longer carry outmoded archaic symbols; they carry no symbols at all. Reading with the Major Arcana of Peacemaker’s Tarot is an invitation to work with open hand and open heart, an invitation to the work of community.
Volume II-A introduces a new interpretation, and I invite you to look, not at the ways the universe is working on you but rather what gifts and movement you can offer Peace and the World. I hope you’ll come along on this journey with me.
